Replacing the Brother HL 1430 Drum Unit

• - If toner gets onto your hands or clothing, wash it off immediately with cold water. Do not use warm water as this may set the toner permanently, and you may not be able to remove the toner stains
• - Be careful and don't inhale the toner

Removing the used Brother HL 1430 drum unit

1. Open the front cover. Pull out the Brother HL 1430 drum unit assembly.

2. Place the drum unit assembly containing the old toner cartridge on a flat, horizontal surface, and pull the toner cartridge out of the Brother HL 1430 drum unit assembly while pushing the lock lever down with your right hand.

3. Unpack the new Brother HL 1430 drum unit.

4. Install the new Brother HL 1430 toner cartridge into the drum unit until it locks into place, indicated by a click. When the toner cartridge is installed correctly, the lock lever is lifted automatically.

5. Install the Brother HL 1430 drum unit assembly into the printer.

6. Reset the page counter referring to the instructions supplied with the new Brother HL 1430 drum unit.

7. Close the front cover and make sure that the Drum LED is now off.

• - Once you have removed the protection cover from your Brother HL 1430 toner cartridge, put it immediately in the drum unit to prevent any print quality degradation

Removing the used Brother HL 1430 toner cartridge

1. Open the front cover. Pull out the drum unit assembly.

2. Place the drum unit assembly containing the old Brother HL 1430 toner cartridge on a flat, horizontal surface, and pull the toner cartridge out of the drum unit assembly while pushing the lock lever down with your right hand.

3. Unpack the new Brother HL 1430 toner cartridge, gently rock it from side to side 5 or 6 times keeping it horizontal.

4. Remove the protective cover.

5. Install the new Brother HL 1430 toner cartridge into the drum unit until it locks into place, indicated by a click. When the toner cartridge is installed correctly, the lock lever is lifted automatically.

6. Clean the primary corona wire inside the drum unit by gently sliding the blue tab to the right end and left end several times. Return the tab to the home position befora reinstalling the drum unit assembly.

7. Re-install the drum unit assembly into the printer and close the front cover.
