Choose Eco fonts

Ecofont PrintingEco fonts are great because they are a simple and cheap solution for the office with high print usage. A reduction in toner is achieved by using less toner per letter on text. The trick lies in little holes the font uses, so a lot less toner is used in printing. Generally speaking, the eco fonts do not require any modifications to existing fonts and the software is widely available being easily customizable. In addition, Eco fonts are compatible with all printers out there.

Save money by choosing draft as default

DraftMost desktop printers are designed to provide above average printing quality. One great option to save money is to default your print to draft quality. Most documents are read just once with little or no need for storage, so why use high quality printing for a document that will be barely read once?

To set up draft quality you must do the following on most Windows based printers:

(a) Click on tools
(b) Options
(c) Print tab
(d) Under print management choose draft
(e) OK
After following these quick steps you will be all set to save on printing and make those expensive little cartridges last a little longer. Bottom line, every drop of ink counts.

Anybody said generic?

Compatible Toner70% of the medicines sold in the United States are generic. They contain the same chemical components that brand name medicines do, and they deliver the same results. If people trust their lives to compatibles, why not put this same trust (in a lesser scale) in generic cartridges for their printers? These days quality of generics can be just as good as OEM quality and best of all, savings can quickly pile up. With a slowing economy people as well as office managers will find a safe and reliable alternative in compatible toner.

Choose the right printer for your needs

Choose the right printerDo you really need that expensive duplex feeder option? That fancy display? Storage area for paper reams? Unless your office requires it, there is no need to buy a big work horse for things a pony can do. Try to save on printers by avoiding options you don't necessarily need for your office. Don't buy on impulse, speak with your office manager and find out your print output per week. Get the facts straight and then shop around. Would an inexpensive Dell 1320c Toner or a Dell 2130cn toner be better for your home or office's needs? Sometimes having the right information can end up saving you money.

Keep in mind the following:

Pages per month(1) Know your page out per month. Know how much you print and have printed over the past six months. Notice trends and color usage patterns. Ask yourself if you need expensive digital printing. Ponder on whether or not you can do fine with basic average color or if you really need picture quality for your office printer?
(2) Stay away from OEM cost per copy programs, those are designed with a catch and you always end up paying more. You cannot control your use of supplies and the costs far outweigh the benefits. Shoot for a machine that you can control its toner supply.
Dolar sign printing(3) Does that document need to be printed at all? PDF options and electronic signatures today are the norm. Email the document to the recipient in a PDF form first, and only print documents when absolutely necessary.

(4) Are you controlling and monitoring your color printing? Does anyone keep tabs or watches what is being printed at your office? It is hard to resist employees printing their summer vacation pictures at the company`s expense. A good managed control of the color printer can end up saving big bucks at the end of the year. Use printing wisely.
(5) Try to find printers that have a compatible alternative. This will help you down the line in the future to downsize the cost of toner replacement.

Questions about Dell 1320c toner cartridges

1. Hello Joe, my dell 1320c laser printer prints black as grey. How can I get it to print in black again?

Answer: This is a common problem with this printer and there are many things you can try to improve the performance of your dell 1320c toner cartridges and get an excellent printing quality.

Check if your Toner Save Mode is off (in the print driver, under preferences). If you're still printing gray, you may need to replace the PHD (print head unit)

Another thing you can try is to restore the defaults on the printer

There's also the possibility that not all of the ribbons have been removed from the PHD unit inside. To remove them all, you'll need to oven the front cover of the dell 1320c printer, move the four tabs 90 degrees and pull the whole PHD out and take off the 4 yellow ribbons. I will return to normal after 40 or 50 pages printed. Be careful with this because if you've already print with all or some of the ribbons, you're PHD units might be damaged and you'll have to buy new ones.

Check that the Non-Dell Toner in the Printer Maintenance tab in the Tool Box is not selected.

Verify that you're using the correct print media

2. Dear Joe, my dell 1320 printer is not printing on the left side of the paper. What's the problem?

Answer: It seems to be a problem with dell 1320 toner contamination in the optical processing unit. You can solve this problem by removing the unit and cleaning the mirrors/lenses in the open front of the unit and the laser/mirrors behind the plastic cover at the back with compressed air.

3. Hi, my dell 1320c toner cartridges are giving me light printing. What can I do to fix it?

Answer: You should try checking that your saving mode is turned-off, if it is, then the problem might be some toner dust accumulated on the mirror and lenses inside the machine. You could try cleaning it yourself with compressed air or hire a professional to do it for you.

4. Hello Joe, every time I print in black it comes out looking like if I was colored the whole page with black crayon or dust, why is this happening?

Answer: If you put your hand over the paper and the toner is coming off on your hand, you'll need to change the fuser

5. Hi Joe, something is happening with my blue dell 1320c toner cartridge because it is printing as purple and sometimes pink, what can I do?

Answer: you can try shaking it a little to see if it helps, if not, check that everything is clean in the cartridge, clean contacts and check also the lenses and mirrors of the PHD, if none of that works you'll need to replace it.
